Pogradeci eshte qytet ne Shqiperine juglindore. Emri i qytetit te Pogradecit lidhet me historine e krijimit te qytetit. Enkelejtet kanë qene fis qe kane jetuar brenda mureve te kalase se ndertuar ne maje te kodres prane qytetit, ne pjesen veri-perendimore te qytetit. Dikur qyteti kishte dimensionet e kalase, ku momentalisht gjenden vetem rrenojat.  Pogradeci është qytet në Shqipërinë juglindore.

Histori
Emri i qytetit të Pogradecit lidhet me historinë e krijimit të qytetit. Enkelejtët kanë qenë fis që kanë jetuar brenda mureve të kalasë së ndërtuar në majë të kodrës pranë qytetit, në pjesën veri-perëndimore të qytetit. Dikur qyteti kishte dimensionet e kalasë, ku momentalisht gjenden vetëm rrënojat. Me rritjen e popullsisë dhe mbarimit të luftërave lindi nevoja e zgjerimit. Fillimisht rrëzë kodrës e më vonë deri në atë skaj saqë kalaja e vjetër nuk përbënte më qendrën e qytetit. Prania me Maqedoninë dhe ndikimi i saj në gjuhën dhe kulturën tonë, bëri që Pogradeci do të shkruej "Pogda grada", që do të thote "nën qytet". Tashmë qyteti i ri shtrihej nën kalanë e vjetër ilire.

EkonomiaPogradeci është një qendër e rëndësishme industriale në Shqipëri. Për tu përmendur janë industria e kromit, e hekurit, e nikelit, e qymyrit, e turizmit (deri në vitet '90 qyteti pothuajse trefishohej gjatë verës), peshkimit, e përpunim drurit, pijeve etj.
